On December 20, 2023, our client was driving eastbound on an icy roadway in Deschutes County when the at-fault driver, traveling westbound at excessive speed for conditions, lost control and crossed the center line, resulting in a head on collision. The crash was entirely caused by the other driver’s failure to adjust for the icy road.
Our client suffered a T3 vertebral compression fracture, along with significant neck, back, and chest pain, and developed depression, anxiety, and PTSD. He incurred $50,000 in medical expenses. Through legal negotiations, we secured $100,000 in liability coverage, $15,000 in PIP medical benefit reimbursement, and $42,000 in underinsured motorist (UIM) benefits, for a total recovery of $157,000.
